Sometimes Secrets Are Good

Read: Matthew 6:1-4

Often time’s people get angry and believe that secrets are bad. People have often gotten into huge arguments and fights over a secret, but I am here to tell you not all secrets are bad. There are often times in order to follow Jesus' teachings that we as Christians must do things in secret.

As you have already read, it tells us from scripture to "Take heed that you do not do charitable deeds before men, to be seen by them." (Matt 6:1a). Jesus teaches us that when we do charitable deeds, no matter how small or how large, that we should not boast about and draw attention to ourselves, because those who do will only receive the reward from men and gain no heavenly reward. So, as you are out doing the will of God in your daily life don't expect anything in return from anyone, as your reward will be waiting for you in heaven.

Today I challenge you to do a deed for someone to glorify God, and don't expect anyone to notice or thank you for it. If possible do the deed in complete secret, and let those who benefit from your deed be thankful without knowing you are the one responsible.
